What are the most detrimental contributors in this day and age to poor health and disease?
Well, lifestyle of course: processed food, a bad diet, too much animal protein. You can be a very healthy person without any animal protein if you have the discipline to go into a vegan diet. The people that do eat the animal protein, it’s loaded with hormones, chemicals, pesticides and antibiotics and they are a critical factor causing us to develop disease.
I believe the main cause of our diseases – in the way we’re eating and living in this country today – is that the body becomes inundated with processed food. It becomes like a sludge on the cellular level. There are 70,000 chemicals that we’re aware of that could be in our food leading to cellular inflammation, problems affecting our organs, and absolutely causing cancer and other diseases to boot.
Are there any unapparent factors that may contribute to poor health and disease?
I think there are a lot of them to be perfectly honest with you. I don’t think I’m even aware of all of them. There’s so many things going on in our society that are taking place beyond the scenes with food and with pharmaceuticals, there’s a whole mess of things. As far as I’m concerned you don’t have to be aware of all the unapparent factors because we are aware of the apparent factors. We are aware of what it takes to create optimal health for our bodies. We know we have tremendous information now, and we know exactly what to do to improve our situation.
Mainly this is a society of excesses. We’re overdoing so many things and our stress levels are soaring. Many people are internalizing stress, which manifests in different types of disease.
