“In my late sixties, I wanted to expand my variety of activities so I decided to switch gears and started to train for marathon running while also experimenting with yoga and Asian stretching exercises.

I noticed that on some days while I was long distance running I was able to really run fast and perform well then all of a sudden on other days, I could barely run at all. It was very confusing to me.”

“Now, there were people that I was training with that were really trying to disprove the whole food plant lifestyle and if it really worked. They always tried to test me but I wanted to be there for people in life, so when somebody wanted to go for a run, I ran.

One person in particular would ask if I was having a good day. If I was, we would go out for a run. What he exposed was that I was still having a difficult time running consistently.”

“Then I finally woke up that I wasn’t getting enough calories. Once I got enough calories everything changed!!”
